Event Description

ONE PIG, DEAD AND ALIVE

Presented by Accidental Records ONE PIG, DEAD AND ALIVE is a collaboration between Matthew Herbert, chef Rosie Sykes, and pop-up dining experts Shacklewell Nights.

The event presents a one-off opportunity to experience Herbert's acclaimed ONE PIG, the album on which he documents the journey of a single animal from birth to plate through debate, sound and taste.

Going straight to the farming and food production issues at the heart of ONE PIG, the evening will begin with discussion between Herbert, Tim Hayward (Guardian, Fire & Knives), Matthew Fort (Guardian) and another soon-to-be-announced special guest.

Then Herbert's band will bring ONE PIG to life in a live performance centering on the StyHarp, a new instrument which plays and manipulates the samples used to make album.

After listening to ONE PIG's life, guests will be served a three-course pop-up restaurant meal in which, among other things, pork from the same family as ONE PIG will be offered.

The menu:

  • Pork rillettes, cornichons and sourdough bread
  • Roast pork loins and legs and braised shoulders with lentils and mustard
  • Bitter winter leaf salad
  • Apple crumble and clotted cream

Taking place in a small, intimate space in East London only a limited number of tickets are available for this special event.
